Typecraft is an independent typing practice project.

Typecraft brings short speed tests, focused keyboard lessons, and personal progress into one simple space. The idea is straightforward: make it easy to practice today and see a reason to come back tomorrow.

What you can do here

Choose a timed test, a word count, an original passage, a code snippet, or your own practice text. Follow the beginner lessons, retry the words you missed, and take a date-based daily challenge. All current practice features are free.

Your progress belongs to your browser

No account is required. Recent session detail, streak activity, lesson milestones, weak-key statistics and preferences are stored locally on your device. There is no cross-device sync. Export your recent session history as a CSV before clearing browser data if you want to keep a copy.

An honest score

Results are for personal practice, not verified professional certification. Different durations, word sets, and devices produce different scores. We explain our scoring method so you can compare your sessions fairly.

Free to begin

This edition has no advertising or paid subscriptions. If that changes, commercial content should be clearly labeled and kept outside the typing area.
